Admission through CAP

Merit admissions for UG & PG programmes are managed through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) of Mahatma Gandhi University. For online application, the candidate must visit the website www.cap.mgu.ac.in and click on the link UG/PG CAP. Follow the online instructions and fill the details. Pay the application fee by Online Payment Gateway. After remitting the fee, the candidate can fill the application form with personal details, academic eligibility and options.

Admission Rules

Merit Admission will be conducted as per the norms and procedures of Mahatma Gandhi University Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). Management Quota admission application should be made in the prescribed form which can be had from the college office or the candidate can apply through online mode by using our website. Qualifying certificates and other documents should be submitted by the students as per admission intimation. The applicant should report with the Parent/Guardian for the admission interview and should produce the following documents.

Indexing of Marks

BA English Language & Literature

Total marks secured in the qualifying examination less handicap marks plus twice the marks secured in Part I English of the plus two equivalent examination plus weightage of 50 marks to those who have taken English as one of the optional for the qualifying exam plus bonus marks if any.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Total marks obtained in Part III less handicap marks plus marks obtained for Mathematics/Computer Science (best of two) plus bonus marks if any

B Com with Computer Applications

Marks obtained in Part III optional at plus two examinations less handicap marks plus a weightage of 50 marks in each of the three subjects of commerce combination subject to a maximum of 150 marks plus bonus if any.

College Library

The library of the college offers plenty of syllabus oriented text books published by eminent authors, general books, newspapers, periodicals and journals. A digital library is functioning in associations with general library which give e – learning facilities for the students. Following are the library rules

CBCSS (Choice Based Credit and Semester System)

The University Grants Commission (UGC) directed all the Universities in the country to restructure courses on Choice Based Credit and Semester System pattern in 2009-2010 academic years. Mahatma Gandhi University regulations are framed in accordance with UGC guidelines on restructuring education. Accordingly, all affiliated colleges have restructured the regular courses on the CBCSS, a combination of internal and external evaluation with grading. The three year undergraduate programme will be divided into 6 semesters, each semester consisting of a minimum of 90 working days, distributed over 18 five – day academic year.The structure of the semester system will be as follows:

There will be the internationally followed curricula and mode of evaluation under CBCSSS. There shall be two parts of evaluation. They are

Internal Evaluation

The internal to external assessment ratio shall be 1:4. There shall be maximum of 80 marks for external evaluation and maximum of 20 marks for internal evaluation.

General Rules of the College

Ragging Prohibition

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the authority will expel the student from the institution if it found true and other actions will be taken as per the Kerala State Ragging Prohibition Act.

Transfer Certificate

For getting the Transfer Certificate, the students is required to write a request letter in the prescribed format and the letter should be duly attested a no dues from Department, Library, Lab, Cash Section etc.

Course & Conduct Certificate

After the completion of the programme, the students will get the course and conduct certificate from the college. The request letter in the prescribed Performa is required for the certificate issue.

Sree Sabareesa Virtual Campus

Virtual classes will be organized for the programmes – tribal culture, sustainable agriculture, livestock, cloud computing, easy English and health and lifestyle. Online certificate courses will get the facility to interact with the faculty pool of SreeSabareesa College.

Adult Education

Department of adult education offer continuous and lifelong learning programme for the aspiring candidates. It gives plenty of support for the framers, unskilled labors and marginalized people to study skill oriented programmes.

Sree Sabareesa Cultural Exchange Programme

The selected students of the Sree Sabareesa College can participate in the cultural exchange programme organized by the college at the national and international level. The programme will help the students to mingle with students and faculties of departments functioning outside the states and nation and certain charitable societies in India working with tribal population. Three Types of cultural exchange programmes will be organized under the scheme

10 days cultural exchange camp in Indian tribal areas.

One month block placement for students in the NGOs working with tribal population.

Department level exchange activities organized by the various departments of the college and out of state colleges.
